Radiator FAQs

How do I know which size radiator I need?

Radiator size depends on your room dimensions and heat loss. Our engineers calculate this using BTU output to make sure your space stays warm and efficient. Use our online quote tool for quick radiator sizing advice.

Can I replace my old radiators with new ones easily?

Yes. Most older systems can be upgraded to modern radiators without major pipework changes. Our team can check compatibility and install new valves, TRVs and brackets as part of the job.

What are TRVs and do I need them?

TRVs (Thermostatic Radiator Valves) let you control the temperature of individual rooms. They improve comfort and energy efficiency and are now recommended under current building regulations.

Why are some of my radiators cold at the top?

Air trapped inside your system can stop radiators heating fully. Try bleeding the radiator to release air. If the problem persists, a professional power flush may be needed to remove sludge build-up.

How often should radiators be bled or balanced?

We recommend bleeding once or twice a year — typically before winter. Balancing should be checked every few years to ensure even heat distribution throughout your system.

Can I mix different radiator styles in my home?

Absolutely. You can mix modern flat panels, traditional column radiators and towel rails — just ensure the total BTU output meets your heating requirement.

Do you supply and fit designer radiators?

Yes — we install all radiator types including vertical, slimline and designer ranges. Our engineers handle delivery, fitting and system balancing to finish.

How long does a radiator installation take?

Most single replacements take around one hour. Full system radiator upgrades can be completed in one day depending on pipework layout and access.

Do you remove and dispose of old radiators?

Yes, we safely remove and recycle your old radiators as part of the installation — leaving no mess behind.
